(Almost) Wordless Wednesday...on Thursday

Wednesday got away from me.  I took this photo on Wednesday, so maybe it can count?                                                                                                              
Follower and Gardenweb Kitchen Forum friend, Breezy, introduced me to Spooner Berry Farm's organic strawberries, grown in Olympia, WA, and we got a flat yesterday.  They are smallish compared to berries found in the store, but powerpacked with flavor and sweetness!  I hated to slice and sugar them at all, because they already tasted sugared.  Definite plan for this evening:  Shortcake.

The best berries ever! Hope you enjoy your shortcake. We enjoyed some last night as a matter of fact. I still need to get some batches of strawberry ice cream made before this year's short berry season is over.

The berries look wonderful! I ran up to the farmer's market the other day looking for strawberries, and it looks like strawberries are done, before I had time to get to a u-pick farm. I'm definitely going to go for the other berries, though.
