Weighing Heavy

The 2 huge beams are at the bottom of the lumber stack,
wrapped in white
Ever since they were delivered to our yard, the huge laminated beams that will span the garage  --one side-to-side, and one, front-to-back-- have been weighing as heavily for Hubby, mentally, as he knew they would physically.

But he had ideas of how to safely maneuver them into the garage and up into position, and his very good builder friend (good friend and good builder) had a few more.  They did some talking, and pre-planning.  Hubby and Prince Go-for-It devised a small cart, and with the help of a Bobcat and other contraptions (straps, chain, etc.), Hubby, Prince Inventive, our friend, and our friend's grown son were ready to make it happen.

Prince CuddleBunny served as photographer.

This opened the door for more progress.  More on that tomorrow...

Hi! Those guys are so clever and have done well to get those rafters up there! I remember helping my brother raise the rafters on his house...years ago. It took team effort, but we got them up there.
You made me laugh on you comment today...saying that you were so behind on reading my blog...it gave me a chuckle. Because the truth of the matter is ... I think I had 3 post that went out today...1 by accident. Why? because I'm so behind on my blog!!!
I get carried away reading...and being busy here.
But you know all about that, with your huge bunch!
take care, can't wait to see the garage as it continues to come to completion. Hope everyone is careful!
