My heart is full. I have a wonderful family, including the one I grew up in and the one God gave us. The blessing of being a wife and mother is huge. I am thankful to say those terms, in large part, define me.
It storms outside, raining and blowing, but we have a warm and beautiful home. We live on beautiful property, surrounded by green lusciousness punctuated by the remaining colorful leaves. Most importantly, we have a God and Savior who loves and cares for us and who has taken care of our days and our eternity for us.
We have a kitchen full of food, voices, and laughter, and the willing, loving efforts of Prince Steadfast and Princess Sassy, as well Princesses Artiste and Eager, and Princes Go-for-It, CuddleBunny, and Inventive. We are so glad to have Prince Stoic and his roommate here from the Big City.
There is an ache in my heart, and the occasional tear running down my cheek, missing the other 2 we wish we could have around our table today... Sometimes the missing them and the challenges of distance hit hard. But our precious Princess Bossy and Prince Helium are healthy and happy, and surrounded by Prince H's family as the couple hosts their first married Thanksgiving in a state far away. That ache in my heart only means I love them so dearly, which is a gift.
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. James 1:17
We are blessed, blessed, blessed ...and so thankful.
Happy Thanksgiving!
