(Almost) Wordless Wednesday

Day 1: What's good for the closet is not necessarily good for the living room!

The closet doesn't look pretty, but there is now room for coats to hang...and for a curious cat.

The good news is that when Princess Artiste put a lot of the photos in album pages, she also put them in notebooks.  The bad news is they weren't in any order.  The kids started helping by organizing the albums...and enjoyed looking through old photos along the way.

Looks like a good start! I love going through the pre-digital pics. It's fun to actually thumb through them. I really should print out more pics. Thanks for sharing.
There are great things about digital pics, but the downside is you can't just sit down and glance through them like with albums. And because we can take so many, there are SO MANY to go through, and it'd take forever if I decided to print them. But I'm afraid I'm going to lose years of them if I don't do SOMEthing.

Now to get on the memorabilia that isn't photos, and figure out what to do with it all. We need the couch back...

Re organizing digital pictures: If you at least rename them to say who is in the picture, where, when and/or why they were taken, it helps a lot!!! And you can cut and paste. I did this with a lot of my folks' photos for their 50th anniversary, including the scanning of some ancient prints. I made a digital scrapbook and my brother made a slide show of loved ones. It's so great now to have them on my computer (and on off site backup), and just be able to search on a name to find pictures.
Oh, dear...Another HUGE project. And at the computer, too.
